Virginia O’ConnellVirginia O’Connell

Virginia O’Connell joined the Arizona Water Banking Authority as a Water Resource Specialist in November 2005 following 6 years working in the Phoenix Active Management Area Office (AMA) in the Department of Water Resources.

Ms. O’Connell has worked in the Recharge, Municipal Conservation, and the Assured Water Supply Programs. Prior to joining the AWBA staff, she lead the Phoenix AMA Recharge Program where she was responsible for the accounting of long-term storage credits and overseeing recharge and recovery projects. Ms. O’Connell worked with recharge team members and the Hydrology and Legal Divisions to develop the current recharge application guides, streamline procedures, and develop policies.

She has a B.S. and an M.S. in Environmental Resources from Arizona State University and was a research assistant while pursuing her masters degree.
