MEETING SCHEDULE

Water Banking Authority General Meeting
At the June 16, 1999 Arizona Water Banking Authority meeting, the Authority approved a change from monthly to quarterly meetings

All Authority meetings are held at 10:00 am at the Arizona Department of Water Resources, third floor conference room.
     Wednesday, January 26, 2000
Special meeting to discuss principles of negotiation for interstate agreements.
     Thursday, March 2, 2000
Arizona Water Banking Authority Recovery Subcommittee Meeting, at 10:00 a.m., third floor conference room A

AWBA will continue discussions about future water recovery efforts in Arizona.

     Tuesday, March 14, 2000
     Major item of discussion will be interstate agreements.
     Wednesday, May 17, 2000

The Arizona Water Banking Authority has scheduled a meeting of the Recovery Subcommittee, at 10:00 a.m., third floor conference room A.

To help facilitate dialogue at the meeting, the AWBA staff requests that primary contacts of the GIS Recovery Database be prepared to discuss a portion of your M&I subcontract when a shortage is declared on the Colorado River system.

Public Commentary Meeting
     Thursday, January 13, 2000 at 1:00 p.m.
     This meeting is being held by the Office of Legal Services of the Arizona Department of Water Resources to solicit public comment regarding whether the recently passed Bureau of Reclamation Rule Governing Offstream Storage of Colorado River Water meets the statutory requirements of Arizona Revised Statutes 45-2427. A document which compares the proposed and final rule is available here. The public meeting will focus only on whether the statutory criteria have been met. The meeting will not include discussion of contractual issues or the business aspects of banking water. If you cannot attend the meeting, or otherwise wish to submit comments in writing they should be received no later than close of business on January 13, 2000 by:

ALL AWBA Study Commission Subcommittees Concluded
     The Benefits Outside CAP Service Area Issues, Indian Issues, Interstate and Intrastate Marketing Issues, and Financing and Tax Issues (Previously Planning & Modeling Subcommittee) Subcommittee meetings have concluded, and no further meetings will be held. A full Study Commission Report incorporating the findings of each subcommittee will be issued in November 1998.
